Elizabeth R. Hearn – Director

Elizabeth Hearn is the founder and director of Knight Fusion at Marian University in Indianapolis where she also teaches music theory and choral music education courses.  Before moving to Indianapolis in 2010, she served for seven years as Choral Director at Hueytown High School  in Birmingham, Alabama where she directed the superior rated and award winning Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir and also produced an annual Holiday Dinner Theater which she directed and choreographed. In 2010, the Hueytown Concert Choir performed at the Alabama Music Educator’s State Conference.  She served as the musical director and conductor of the school musicals including the shows Grease, Oklahoma!, and Little Shop of Horrors.  Mrs. Hearn also served as the director of the award-winning Color Guard and Winterguard at Hueytown.

Libby received the Bachelor of Science in Music Education (Magna Cum Laude) and Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of Alabama.  She was honored to the be University of Alabama Outstanding Music Education graduate in 2003.

Mrs. Hearn is currently active in the music ministry as a vocalist at the Westlake Church on Indy’s westside.  She is also a licensed Kindermusik teacher.

Her professional affiliations include: MENC, ACDA, ICDA, and Sigma Alpha Iota. Most recently, Mrs. Hearn proudly adds cancer survivor to her list of accomplishments.  She is a volunteer at the Hendricks Regional Cancer Center and a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  She is married to Dr. Sidney T. Hearn, Director of Bands at Marian University and they have a twoyear old daughter and aspiring musician, Catherine.
