Eric Van Cleave – Arranger
Eric began his music career at the age of 15 when he played organ for the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Indians, and the Tommy Bartlett Ski Sky & Stage Show in the Wisconsin Dells. He attended Ball State University where he earned a B.S. in Music Education and spent many extra-curricular hours with the Ball State University Singers.
He was director of choral activities at Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana where he directed nationally acclaimed show choirs and developed a comprehensive musical theater program. He has twice been recognized by the Indiana General Assembly for his contributions to the Arts in Education and was recently selected to be a Wall Of Fame recipient with the Lafayette School Corporation.
Eric worked as musical director for Cedar Point/Cedar Fair Amusement Parks in Sandusky, OH where his productions consistently won Outstanding Overall Production awards from the IAAPA, and he worked with the Bravo Television Network to develop a national arts outreach campaign to under-served communities.
Since leaving the classroom full-time, Eric has continued to conduct musical and motivational workshops with many of the finest show choirs in the nation. He has been a clinician with Showchoir Camps of America since 1994, conducts the “Roads Scholar/Elderhostel Chorus” at Purdue University, and directs the Indiana All Star High School Show Choir. In 2011 he was voted “Best Arranger” and received the ASPIRE award for excellence in show choir production.
Eric holds a Masters in Business Administration and is honored to have served on the Wabash Valley Trust for Historic Preservation and the Tippecanoe Arts Federation.
